Hello To My Friends In GenSan City..
Laarni Montile
Ridgewood, CA USA - Sun, July 20, 2003

It was the day to remember, the 50th Anniversary when NotreDame of GenSan turn Gold. It was memorable to us Notredamean as the source and foundation of our true spirit and faith as believers of Christ.
We cherished our visits, the activities where well done.
On top on all, the Mayor of GenSan(Pedro Acharon Jr.) had invited all the vesiting Alumni's from USA, to his Office and were generously having lunch with him. So, it was very exciting beside of all the changes in the whole City of GenSAn. After about 35 years of my absence. Everything has change. I am a complete stranger of my own alma matter. Thanks that I had a chance to see my old Classmates after many many years.
although our hairs has turned gray but the NotreDame spirit
are still there. Our bach of 59 grads had a get together after, although not all was there but we had some fun.
Thank you so much Notre Dame, that goes to Susan Guipo, the
alumni coordinator. Keep up the good work. See you somewhere in the horizon. God bless all.

NEWFLASH
Congratulations to Bro. Willy, Susan Guipo and the members of the Uwi Na Damean 2003 for pulling off another successful reunion. As soon as we get photos from the attendees, we will post it on the website.
June 27, Friday - Bro. Willy led alumni from the United States, Saudi Arabia, China, Manila and Davao to visit Mayor Pedro Acharon in the City Hall. Mayor Acharon is an alumnus of ND of Dadiangas. The Mayor hosted a lunch at the posh Orient Seas restaurant for all his guests.
June 28, Saturday
The day started with a motorcade. A threat of rain didn't dampen the spirits of Notre Dameans as they showed up in their cars decorated with baloons. According to Susan, the Alumni Coordinator, the turnout was unbelievable. The motorcade originated from NDDC campus and made a loop downtown--the lead car was back in the campus while other cars have not left yet.
A mass followed in the auditorium sponsored by Class 1954 lead by alumna former Alma Velasquez. Morning activities ensued--short program that was enjoyed by all, cutting of the ribbon by Board Memeber Angel Boloico and Estrella Taculad Molina for the marker (an obelisk) to acknowledge the Notre Dame Alumni USA's contributions to the institution, and another lunch for over 400 alumni and guests.
Notre Dame of Alumni USA was well represented by our able secretary Ana Fe Dinopol and her husband Gerry, Glo Santos Plateros, Ligaya Tancinco Huffman, Michael Santos Gegantoca, Rene Taculad, Johnny Taculad, Daumier Padua Austria, Sulping Arriola and family, etc.
Saturday evening was the culmination of the affair called Kamustahan night. There was plenty of barbecue, a live band and a bunch of rollicking alumni partying it up from 6 pm until dawn. Emails from Joe Loable (from China) kept the updates and Rey Velasquez sent his reportat 12:30 a.m. after he came home from the revelry.
June 29, Sunday
All through the 3-day celebration, alumni from various batches - 1950, 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990 and 2000, held their own mini-reunions on the beaches of Sarangani, in local restaurants and hotels.
When we received photos from attendees, we will add a full update for Reunion 2003 in Gen. Santos City. Meanwhile, keep checking on details regarding the Las Vegas reunion July 25-27. We will be posting important information in a day or two. Wherever you are, take time to keep in touch with your classmates and schoolmates. Happy Reunion everyone.

Mabuhay,
Dear Prima,

I just returned from a month's stay in Mindanao. The "so-called danger land of the Philippines" which of course is based on isolated incidents.

I was as safe as I am in Miami. So don't let ABU SAYAF scare people from the NDDC celebrations.

The start of the jubilee year was fantastic and if the June celebration learns from that of December I'm sure everyone will have the time of their lives.

That sister of yours, Susan, was indeed a GUARDIAN ANGEL, expert source of information and guidance. She really went out of her way to lead me around and make sure that I contacted many significant people. I'm sure when the jubilee year is finished she will need a rest and vacation. God bless the likes of Susan.

By separate mail I'm sending a few souvenir pens.

All the best to you and yours.

In Notre Dame,

Bro. Joe Damian

P.S. You can communicate to me through Bro. Vincent Jerome at: bvinjer@aol.com

Hello fellow classmates and friends,

An open letter from my sister Susan Guipo, Alumni Coordinator, Notre Dame of Dadiangas College Alumni Affairs Office. Happy New Year everyone.
Cheers, Prima Guipo

Nice talking with you on the phone today. I just got back to the office after spending time with Bro. Damian and Brother Willy the whole morning. Puring Arradaza Yu treated him to lunch at Isla Parilla.

You will all love this place in June. It is very nice, cozy and the food was great. We will serve you all the nice things that Isla Parilla can offer.

Would you spread the word arround? The peace and order situation here is not really that bad as long as you stay within the city. Bro Damin even went to Cotabato, Kidapawan, Marbel, Davao and today we brought him to Alabel.

He is going Home on the 8th of January. You can ask him about the launching and surely he will tell you fabulous experiences. We hope to do more when June comes. We will make it great for all of you.

So take good care and love from home.
