Greetings to all Notre Dameans around the world!
It was a great pleasure to see the Notre Dameans from Southern California and neighboring places celebrate their Christmas Party. It was well attended. Christmas carols were sung, there were plenty of food and everyone had a great time. There were dances as well. I am sure everyone who attended the party would like to continue this activity next year in which we share some of our moments with our classmates, friends and Notre Dame-in-laws. It was a beautiful celebration. However, let us not forget the reason why we celebrate Christmas. This is the time of the eyar that mankind received the greatest gift of all. To us is born the son of God in a lowly manger so that we may be saved. What a wonderful gift that we received from our creator. This is the reson why we are joyful and merry. Let us share this joy and happiness with others whom we are in contact with. Let us make the difference in others lives. Let us live up to what we learned in school. Let us make everyday of our life a Christmas day. MALIGAYANG PASKO AT MASAGANANG BAGONG TAON. I hope to see you in Vancouver 2007.

In the name of NDAA, S. CA chapter, I would like to convey my profound thanks to those who attended our recent Christmas party in Buena Park. To those who worked hard to make it a success, to those who, even unable to come, nevertheless contributed monetarily to it, to those who donated to Notre Dame and its charitable cause, thank you so much. I will not name names but God knows you. May He bless you a thousand times more.
For next year, I'll propose that we hold the party in a hall instead of a hotel. It will be less expensive for everybody with no penalty for late comers but double the fun, food, gifts and merry-making.
Merry Christmas to all!

Hello Southern California,

Looks like I MISSED A GOOD ONE! Angel Boloico and Edna Aquino Balili called tonight to chat about the fun everyone had at the Southern Cal Christmas Party last Saturday, December 3. Next year, please let us know ahead of time so we can be there.

So sorry that our teleconference DID NOT HAPPEN. I was supposed to talk to you guys over the telephone but we did not get connected. I heard though that Chris and Lannie Zerrudo were able to "talk to you" and pledged for your worthwhile cause.

For those who were present and took pictures, please forward copies to Chris Gammon at chris_gammon@hotmail.com. He can add your photos under the NEWS section. It is so nice that the chapter idea took off and is working for the betterment of our organization.

I heard many Taga-Lagao and Taga-Dadiangas alumni came for the FIRST TIME EVER. That's quite an accomplishment. Kudos to all the organizers and officers led by Dr. Jess Mendoza. If you were there, please email us at the guestbook. We'd love to hear what fun you guys had. It inspires all of us who were not there.

Wished I could have heard Angel's harmonica, Wilbert and Rod's guitar and seen Gerry and Wilbert "Broadway" debut. Thank you everyone for coming. Next year, I'LL BE THERE! In Notre Dame, Prima

As we enter the Holiday Season let me greet everybody a Happy Thanksgiving Day. In the name of NDGSAA, USA S. California Chapter, I would like to invite everybody to our First Annual Christmas Party on December 3 at the Holiday Inn in Buena Park. To NotreDameans, families and friends, even from other states, who think they might be able to come or are near the vicinity of Southern CA on that day, we extend our heartfelt invitation to you. Please call our contact persons as soon as possible and they will give you the information about this celebration.
Aside from the good food and joy of seeing your old friends, we have prepared a nice Christmas program, door prices and gifts and a lot of dancing to the awesome music and songs prepared for you by Rod Soto that will take you from the most modern ones to the nostalgic tunes of years gone by that might even make you cry as you recall those bygone times.
As I've said before, life is a journey and we will be happy and honored if you can occasionally ride with us.

Hi! I stumbled upon this website in one of my many searches and ended up spending hours reading the entries all the way back to 2002. It took me back in time to familiar names, faces, places and events. I wish I knew about this site years back.
Anyway, I am a 1986 NDDFG graduate. I also spent some time teaching in the nursing program at NDDC in the early 1990s.
It's great to be with fellow Dameans again.

To paraphrase JFK, ask not what the Notre Dame Alumni Association can do for you. Rather, ask what you can do for the Association and your fellow Notre Dameans.

The only thing that doesn't stop is time and, for most of us, time here on Earth is short. So let's make the most out of it and have more happy gatherings together in our respective areas. Let's make the Association even stronger, happier and better that it already is. Let's devise means on how to help it in it's various projects and activities. The local chapters exist only for this purpose. Here, there are no stars or superstars. Rather, each and every Notre Damean is a star, deserving of our friendship and help, if necessary.

So, a happy journey to all towards more camaraderie, Vancouver and beyond.

Dear Fellow Notre Dameans:

I am writing this letter to keep the reunion fever hot and reach out to each and everyone.
The success of this organization lies in each one of us. I cannot do it alone. Each one of us, has the responsibility towards our Notre Dame of Gen. Santos USA and Canada
organization. We need to work together to make this organization bigger, stronger than what it is. We need to unite not divide. Let us work hand in hand for the greater glory of Notre Dame and this organization. Let us ask ourselves: What have I done for the Notre
Dame organization? Have I been in touch with my fellow Notre Dameans, drop a letter, email them or have I made a difference in someone's life?

The creation of the local chapter is very important asset to the national organization. The local chapter can motivate a non-active members, help collect membership fee, facilitate and enhance reunion activities and better communication to members in a less costly way. For example, the venue in Vancouver. It will help us a lot if we have a local chapter to facilitate and organize the reunion. The goal of the chapter is to keep members involve and encourage to actively participate in our national organization.

I have given up my position as a president of the local chapter to better serve the national organization. I am the president of everyone and I will serve the cause of this organization. We are Notredamean, we are one, we have one common goal and we will stand united.

Your President and Friend in the name of NOtre Dame,

MINDA HINGCO ZAMZAM

Our profound condolences go to Cristy Villaflores Hagemann and her children. Her husband Peter passed away three days ago. Memo to Fellow Alumni:

Coronado Springs Resort is already sold out as of today. Our reservations contact will do her best to accommodate those who have not booked their rooms yet once the rooms become available.

In the event that there's no way to book you at Coronado, Disneyworld Resorts will assign you to the overflow hotel like Port Orleans.

I drove around the property yesterday. Port Orleans is not far from the Coronado but there is no direct shuttle ride. It takes about 30 minutes from Port Orleans to Coronado because the shuttle stops at a few other locations.

Please tell those who are planning to attend to make their reservations before our cut off-date of Monday, May 9 to get the discounted group rate.

Thanks. Prima

NOTRE DAME TRIVIA!

Congratulations to Chris Gammon, our friendly webbist.

Your singular dedication to our website is helping the Reunion Committee turn FLORIDA FUN into a possible "most attended reunion" yet.

When this website was launched in 2002 just before the National Reunion in Los Angeles, California we were getting 400-500 visits a month.

For March 2005, we had 1,800 visits. Thank you everyone for your continued financial support so we can maintain our website. Your membership fee at work!

Number of hotel rooms reserved for past reunions average a total of 60, (alumni staying an average of 2 nights). Two months before FLORIDA FUN, we already have 92 total rooms reserved (alumni staying an average of four nights).

Let the reservations assistant know that you want to be "moved" to Coronado Hotel as soon as there's cancellations on the sold out dates.

I said inSane Diego because our city is going kaput... bankrupt!. Mayor Dick Murphy just resigned. We are bracing for more taxes to put back the city to it's shining status. I hate politicians. They would promise to fix problems on hand during the campaign and when elected they create more problems. Kumare Prima, I don't have any recollection of what happened at Northwoods Golf Club in Bulacan. Due to my ever nagging neck injury, I didn't even bother to play. I was just tagging along with the guys on a golf cart and paid the bills. Total cost: miltititintostitintaytiti. In other words, a bunch. No complain!. Umbrella girls? No recollection either (he!he!he!). Mare Prima, you're right!
Life is short and we should eat our dessert first. I will certainly expedite the construction of the cottage in Gumasa. 2007 is a good number to have a reunion in GenSan.
Apang just called and he might attend the reunion too. Right now I am on house arrest by Vilma. By reunion time I should get a furlough he!he!he!.

Kumpare Elmar, I'll hold you to your words that the Three Musketeers are coming to Florida. It will be like Las Vegas again. In case you need extra something to bribe Cris and Noli, tell them that Disney will arrange for their tee time. You can be their "umbrella guy". (Heard they don't only have caddies in the Phil, they also have umbrella ladies).

As to your offer to party in Gumasa, I'll take you up on the offer. Class 1967 is planning a Philippine reunion on our 40th anniversary...2007. So hurry up and build that summer cottage. We'll be there. And don't forget to build snorkeling lagoon. I'll volunteer to teach a snokeling lesson.

Glad to hear you had a great time reuniting with ND Alums. Life is short. Let's hold reunions. Cheers, P

Thank you Chris Gammon for yet another job well done. You always come up with creative ways to make our website exciting. It really proves to be the best vehicle in fulfilling the number one stated goal of this organization..."to promote closer ties among alumni".

We have reached alumni all over the world because of our site. On behalf of the organization, let me thank you for your dedication in maintaining the website. People behind the scenes like you and our secretary's secretary Jerry Girard, don't usually get acknowledged.

Kumare Prima, Noli and Cris were finalizing their itineraries the day I left Manila. You know, the 3 of us are inseparables and what that means is, most likely the three musketeers(mga badlongon ba) will be in Florida for
the reunion. Talking about inseparables, Vilma and Linnie are suspecting that at least one of us is gay. Angel thinks that most likely I am. Hoy Apang, you owe me one my friend.
Yes, my well deserved vacation was hardly rest and relaxation. Due to heat and humidity during daytime, I mostly stayed in the hotel and out gallivanting when the sun comes down until whenever. Murag dracula mare(he!he!he!). I had so much fun that 28 days wasn't enough. Hey, time flies when you're having fun and time drags when there's no fun. To me, that's law of relativity (he!he!he!). It was all clean fun though. Just ask Noli and he will vouch on that!
As I said, Pare Marfin Tan offered to give me a piece of real estate in Gumasa by the beach front. I'll have Cris and Noli check it out for best location. A rest house will just be perfect and class'67 alumni are all welcome. Sounds good, huh?.

Just got back from GenSan for a 28-day R&R. Had a wonderful time with some OLD (he!he!he!) familiar faces, class '67, that is!. Bebot Mapalo and his family did a wonderful job in helping out to the success of my 55th senior citizen birthday celebration. Lots of good food, merlot wines and miscellaneous booze made the celebration even more lively. I thank all the guests for their best behaviour. Bing Carino, Normalita Go and Kumare Celia Esma, thank you for bringing laughter and joy to the party. Pare Noli, thank you for the songs. I think I had a little too much to drink because you really sounded good he!he!he!. Maning Malinao, thank you for keeping your mouth shut when other people are talking he!he!he!. Pare Marfin Tan, thank you for that beautiful experience. Your yacht looks great and your private white sand beach in Gumasa looked gorgeous. I made up my mind in accepting a piece of real estate by the cove you offered me. Upon that big rock, I will build my rest house. In other words Pare, it's a done deal. Construction will start late this year (he!he!he!). Kumare Prima, you missed all the action. Wish you were there!. I am not sure
of attending the Florida reunion. If I get a chance though, I will. For those out of towners who are not used to muggy weather, please bring your air-conditioned shoes and
shirts and other haberdash he!he!he!. Enjoy the reunion fellows!

Hi Orman and Bro. Willy,

Can't wait to see you guys in Orlando, Florida AGAIN! The last visit was short and sweet...I hope your next one is longer.

I'm keeping my eye on our Guest Book even as I enjoy the sun, surf and fun of St. John, Virgin Islands.

Let's keep the dialogue in the guest book going. It's fun to read everyone's entry. This is what this website is for...to "promote closer ties among Notre Dameans" all over the world.

Cheers, Prima

Hi Dameans,
We had a little fun again after Prima's book signing at the beautiful residence of Mr and Mrs Aym Zamzam in Corona Ca on 02/20 last Sunday. It was a very succesful event attended by Jerry Hingco, formers: Ms.Ligaya Ramirez,Ms Olive Te, Ms Fe Lautingco,Rod Soto,Richard(Gay's significant other),Mindas'nurses friends and families and of course our famous author Prima Guipo Hower(her 1st book" Tio Doroy's Field ").The food was fantastic... 13 tastiest courses prepared by the host Mrs Minda Hingco Zamzam, (our current Notre
Dame Gensan Alumni President in Southern Ca Chapter). The simmering pancit molo soup of Minda was so good while the rain was pouring outside makes you feel so warm ,baklava pasties for dessert baked by Minda.. finger lickin'good,to name a few. We had fun exchanging ger lickin'good,to name a few. We had fun exchanging jokes and laughters.Prima brought CD pictures from Gensan and Rod showed them on his laptop. We left the place at 7:30pm while others still want to chat stayed while.Minda said she did not go to be until 3am.
Corona is just 1hr150min drive to San Diego if no storm or traffic In the midst of the storm in Southern CA the following day Monday 02/21 merry making continued, across San Diego, still on flash flood advisory or tonado warnings, rain or shine good or bad weather the group Prima, Ligaya , Minda and the special driver Fe Lautingco Urbano(current Treasurer of Southern California chapter) came down here in San Diego to extend our little reunion joined by new members/alumni Jesse and Philip Surmillon,Imelda Surmillon here at home (Gonzalez Residence)We had lunch, then Prima fried sweet and crunchy turon w/nangka and brown sugar(very spicific). At 3pm we were joined by Ms Fely Pedrena and her 2 beautiful daugthers and her beloved 2yr old very cute baby boy(grandbaby of Fely... tsismis may apo na si Fely) We danced and sing, but the fun was not over,we proceeded to Imeldas' beautiful big house and we continued eating delicious fresh lumpia & lingua estofado to die for prepared by Fely, but Prima ordered some daing/tuyo ("dugay na ako wala nakakaon sang bulad Melds" )Imelda better cook it outside or Will,( Imeldas' husband )might kick us out...Hmm smells like ...but good..After our pig out we danced electric slide in a achy breaky music to practice our special number for FLORIDA FUN for our reunion in Orlando come June 24,25,26 2005 special number kuno. we sang like pros.We had scored 100, believe it or not with the karaokes no kidding!(we might give up our day jobs)the rain poured more heavily while we sang.. he he he .. , we enjoyed, it was fun Hope we could do that often. Well folks save the dates and your monies Imagine we are just (more or less) 16weeks away from the big day..Watch for your copies of invitation in the mail...soon.
